The best part about my classroom
is who I share it with.

After graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education, I began my teaching career. I served two long term leave replacements in a Long Island public school, then went on to teach second grade in Harlem at a highly competitive charter school. My family decided to move to sunny Florida, and I followed, where I taught second and third grade in a Manatee County public school. I was sad to leave this school, but decided to move back home to New York. In New York, I spent two years teaching first and second grade inclusion in a Queens charter school. In an effort to be close to home I took a position in Shoreham-Wading River, where I taught fourth grade and then second grade inclusion. Though I no longer had that brutal city commute, I still felt quite distant from my school community. After much moving around I found my way to Cold Spring Harbor, right next door to my home town of Huntington! This year, I am happy to be joining the West Side family and can't wait to contribute to the school and community! I am so excited settle into such a lovely school.

My involvement in each of these schools has provided me with unique experiences that help me to better serve my students. I strive to make the classroom a dynamic and engaging space, where students are part of a community of learners. I believe in building classroom community first, to create a safe place for all who are within it. When you are truly part of a community, everyone is comfortable with taking the risks necessary to reach their full potential.

When I am not in school I love going to the beach and spending time with my little pup. I enjoy cooking and am always looking for something delicious to make and share with loved ones. I love to read and talk about books, a passion I bring into the classroom. I also love ballet, and have always found the art to be a fulfilling hobby.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with fun and learning, alongside you and your child!
